Just a few days left....

If you've ever thought about becoming a Stampin' Up demonstrator, now is the time to take the leap!

From now until Aug. 31 (Monday), new demonstrator's can get stampin' with a mini-starter kit for only $85. It includes all the business supplies you'd get in the large starter kit, plus all six new In Color Classic Ink pads, a package of In Color 8.5 X 11 paper, a package of whisper white cardstock and the For All You Do stamp set (pictured at left).

The great thing about the mini-starter kit is you can swap out the paper, ink pads or stamp set for other items of equal or lesser value.

If you'd rather splurge and have the large starter kit for $199, Stampin' Up is throwing in the six In Color Classic Ink pads for free, but just throuhg Aug. 31... so act quickly.

Also, anyone joining the Pitta Padders family gets a FREE package of 12 Stampin' Write markers (in your choice of color family) from me as a sign-on bonus (with either starter kit).

I've been a demo for the past 3.5 years and I love it! I started out just wanting a discount on Stampin' Up supplies (20% off every order you place and 30% off your first order of $150 or more -- and no obligation to continue), but ended up turning it into a thriving business and making loads of new friends!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me for more information. Happy Saturday!

And the winners are...

As I mentioned in this post, I began a monthly contest with my stamp club members this summer. It was really a way to clean out my stamp room and challenge my customers to USE THEIR STAMPS! ;o)
So I have two more winners - one from each of my two stamp clubs. I only had two entries from each club, so instead of having my fellow demonstrators vote for first, second and third place winners, I just had them pick their favorite card from each group (the clubs are kept separate).
So without further ado.... The Stamp Club #1 (Wareham Club) is.... Laurie K. with this card:

And for Stamp Club #2 (Brewster Club) it was Jill J-S with this card:

Congratulations! Both of you have earned a FREE Stampin' Up classic ink pad in the color of your choice or a $5 coupon off your next order.

Just because all of the cards were fabulous I wanted to show the other two cards as well. It is rather funny as my first Stamp Club created very similiar cards (and they didn't create them together!), so the voting was close! This one is done by Liz M. from Stamp Club #1
And this one was done by Sally B. and features her ADORABLE little Chihuahua, Honi!
Thank you all so much for playing! I love seeing all your different styles... Hopefully come fall, when things slow down a bit, we'll be able to have a few more participants playing!
Have a great weekend (and for those on the New England Coast -- Stay Dry!)

Quick and easy

In my most recent box of goodies from Stampin' Up, I had a package of each of the new notecard sets: Pendant Notes (left) and Elegant Notes (right).

I love the ease of these little 4 X 4 cards. The design is already pre-punched in the paper... I just added some designer series paper (Merry Moments) some ribbon and a few embellishments and have two cute little cards to send to friends in a matter of minutes.

The notecards come with 15 cards plus matching envelopes. The Pendant Notes are $8.95 and the Elegant Notes are $9.95. What do you think?

Well, last night I began the scraproom reorganizing project, well, sort of. I took photos of all the areas of my scraproom for the "before" post. Boy is it MESSY! But really, do I want to clean up the whole room with the old organizing system just to tear it apart to create the new system? Nope. So the "before" photos are going to have to be messy! lol!

I will share some of those photos once I actually begin tearing apart the room a bit. I am on a decluttering kick these days... I'm so DONE with the little piles and slips of paper everywhere!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Monday!

A little too hot for S'mores!

Hi everyone! Hope you are holding up in this heat a bit better than one of my latest projects for club! It's been super hot and muggy on Cape Cod (for those of you not in the neighborhood) and you can tell by the completely lumpy Hershey bar in this project!

Cute project, though huh? I actually stole it from my friend (and upline) Karen Landry. It uses the adorable Under the Stars stamp set. I love the little S'more stamp!
What is really funny is when Matt saw the project he wanted a S'more. Sooooooo.... we proceeded to grab a fork, stab it into a marshmallow and hold it diligently over the .... stove! Yup, we made S'mores over our electric stove... hey, you know what... they tasted just as good!!! lol...
Thanks for stopping by....

Soooo looking forward to the weekend!

Hi All! Happy soon-to-be Friday (it probably is Friday by the time you are reading this!). I just got home from a workshop (Thanks, Missy!) a little while ago and was too "wired" to go to sleep. I LOVE doing workshops, hangin' out with the girls, making some crafty things and gossipin'. Such a fun girls' night out -- you should TOTALLY do it some time ;o)

I thought I would share another one of the projects we did tonight... I always try to include a 6 X 6 scrapbook page in all my workshops to entice any of those professional or would-be scrappers that happen to be in attendance....
So the above scrapbook page features the new Level 3 stamp set called Kind and Caring Thoughts. It has TONS of word sentiments plus some stellar images. It also features me and my buddy Kim... love her!
I love the Rich Razzleberry cardstock (the background color) -- it is one of the new In Colors (new "trendy" colors released once a year) for 2009-2010 and it goes great with the Pale Plum don't you think?
I still have some dates available for the fall and I'm telling you, you don't want to miss out on the new Holiday Mini (I'm just sayin') :o) And don't forget you qualify for hostess benefits with any $150 order or more (all on your own ... it doesn't have to be submitted as part of a workshop).
I just pre-ordered some more goodies from the new mini and it should be arriving early next week... so keep checking back for some sneak peeks....
Thanks for stopping by and TGIF!

Book Holiday workshops now

As I mentioned in this post, Stampin' Up is getting ready to release it's Holiday Mini Catalog for 2009 on September 1 and it is FULL of great stamp sets, paper, Sizzix dies and other great new product.

I've pre-ordered my stamps and accessories to get a jump start on workshops for the fall and have quite a few dates left in Sept. and Oct - the perfect time to hold holiday workshops -- whether Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas -- you are sure to have loads of fun!

Call or email me to book your workshop today -- and don't forget you can earn the same hostess benefits as my in-home workshop hostesses by having a catalog party. Just shoot me a quick email and I'll tell you how.

The card above is one of the projects we'll be making at an in-home workshop I have tomorrow. It uses the fabulous new Nature's Nest stamp set from the 2009-2010 idea book and catalog along with other great products including the eyelet border punch, soft suede reversible polka dot ribbon, and the modern label punch.

To see more samples or check my calendar, visit my website here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Committment issues....

You know it has been a while since you last scrapbooked when it takes you 3 DAYS to finish one layout. Now mind you, most of these elements were in place from day 1, but I just wasn't ready to commit.

I've always had a problem with this in regards to my scrapbooking. I arrange everything on a page, let it sit on my scrapbook table and keep "sneaking up" on it every once in a while to see if anything catches my eye as out of place or just not working.

Well, this morning (in the wee hours of the morning, mind you) I just said enough is enough... you are finishing this layout today or else! So here it is:

Journaling: We held a surprise party for you in your own backyard to celebrate your "sweet sixteen". You were truly surprised, but the biggest surprise to me is how quickly the time has flown.

Supplies: (All Stampin' Up!) Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Melon Mambo cardstock, crushed curry cardstock, whisper white cardstock; Embellishments: Button Latte, Linen thread, On Board Loads of Letters, stampin' dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Craft Ink (dyed the chipboard and the linen thread); punches: Modern label, word window

Overall, I think I'm happy with it... I don't know... I'll have to let you know tomorrow after I "sneak up" on it a few more times, lol!

Thanks for stopping by...

I want to be in Salt Lake City....

I know I said earlier in the week that I was sad that I wasn't going to be in Salt Lake City this year for the annual Stampin' Up convention, but now I'm downright jealous!

At each convention, demonstrators get a goodie bag filled with fabulous Stampin' Up products and make-and-take materials for make-and-take day. Check out the bag that attendees got this year:

And yes, that's FOUR free stamp sets plus a free wheel! I looovvveee the bag... It looks like the inside features the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and it's reversable! How cool is that?

I was going through some of the diplay boards from convention quickly this morning and found one of my cards featured.... check it out below ... it's in the second column, third one down from the scrapbook page (It features the Top Note Die and two lovey dovey birds -- you can click on the image to see it larger):

I think I may have mentioned to you as well that featured in the new Holiday Mini Catalog is our BRAND NEW digital scrapbooking software. Now, I've always been the paper and scissors kind of scrapbooker, but I have to say, seeing some of the sneak peeks from convention, I'm very intriqued and excited to get my hands on this stuff -- which will be available sometime in September! Check out the samples from convention (you should definitely click to see the images larger):

So again, anyone interested in coming to convention with me next year (wink, wink)? Don't forget you can still sign up to be a demonstrator through the month of August for just $85! It's a great deal... check out my website or e-mail me for more info.
By the way, all the photos from this post were taken from lucky duck, SU demo Barbara Jean Smith who has been so nice to share her photos from convention. Definitely go check out her website for more pictures of what's been happening at convention.... including TONS of SU project samples.... It's truly amazing all the things you can do with these products!
Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

Must use stamps....

So I came to the realization last night that I have not had a stamp in my hand for over 11 days! Holy cow! I'm surprised I'm not having convulsions or anything ;o) Last night when I came home from work I tried to remedy that problem, but found that my stamping mojo is still on vacation! I made a couple of cards... they're O.K. but I'm afraid not up to my normal standards lol! I just couldn't get things to work.... Let's see what you think....

Here's the first card I made:

I used the new elegant bouquet embossing folder (I love those!) for the Big Shot and the "Admit It" Level 2 Hostess set. That was one of the first sets I pre-ordered... I don't know why I just loved it. I also used some glitter and crystal effects on the "f" to add some bling... but it didn't come out as nice as I thought it would in my head!

The second card I like a little better. I love the little owl on this one!

I used the same stamp set on this one with the Razzleberry Lemonade paper. Very simple. What do you think? Which one do you like better?

I'm feeling a little sad this week as it is the annual Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City this week and this is the first time in two years that I did not go. It is so much fun to hear about what's coming up product-wise and share the enthusiasm with 1,000s of other demos... and I mean thousands... check out this photo from last year....

That was the "line" to get into general session on the last day of convention last year.... I'm not big on crowds really so we stayed back a bit until it dwindled... there really isn't a bad seat in the house since they have these huge jumbo TVs to watch what is happening on main stage and you are eligible to win freebies from the "prize patrol" no matter where you sit!

Anyone want to go with me next year? Remember you can sign up to be a demonstrator for just $85 through the end of the month... and that gets you all the added benefits including the 20% product discount, access to all the special corporate events, the ability to pre-order new items (right now I'm debating what I am going to order from the new Holiday Mini-Catalog -- you should be seeing yours soon if you are on my customer list -- if you are not feel free to email me and I'll get one out to you as soon as I get a package in my hand). Feel free to call or email if you have any questions.

Check out my website for more info about being a demo and while you're there check out the new kids campaign and specials here.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!

Back Home....

Hi friends! Sorry I have not been around the blog these days... Matt and I went on a 7 DAY vactation to Las Vegas and just returned home on Tuesday. We had loads of fun and didn't lose too much money ;o)

Matt did better than me this time around... pretty much anything I gave my money to kept it! Bummer. No retiring early for me (wink, wink).

What is so great about Las Vegas is there are so many other things to do besides just gambling... one of my favorite is eating!

This is Chicken Rio from Battista's Hole in the Wall Italian Restaurant (one of our favorite places to go). It looks a little less than appealing here (because I had already eaten half of it before I remembered I wanted to take a photo) but trust me it is DELICIOUS!

Matt is not so happy at my making him pose with his fried bologna sandwich from Toby Keith's Restaurant... another favorite stop of ours. I know, fried bologna? But yes, it is yummy and goes best with a Chambord Margarita served in a mason jar!! One of those and I'm set for the night (It's seriously huge)!

We had many other food excursions including a buffet to die for at the Rio hotel and yumminess at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville but eating was not all we did (although looking back now... I'm not so sure!)

We actually went for a little road trip this time to the Lake Mead National Park... Their "beaches" are certainly not what we are spoiled with here... but still beautiful:

Where's the sand??? It's the desert, silly... no real "sand" to be found... it's actually really rocky and the brochure advises everyone to wear protective foot gear while in the water. We didn't actually go swimming, but we did stick our feet in Lake Mead just to say we did.

We also had lunch here (Did I mention we like to eat in Vegas?):

The restaurant was right on this dock so we had fabulous views of the Hemenway Harbor Marina.

We witnessed a new phenomenon for us as well.... Fish that beg! I've never seen such a thing in my life, but these fish were without a doubt, begging... check it out:

And look at them all! It was crazy... throw a handful of popcorn in the water and they went nuts (I felt a little bad about feeding these poor guys popcorn... that can't be good for them... but they certainly seemed to enjoy it! They literally followed you along the dock with their mouths popping open every now and again!)

Well, I guess I've bored you enough with my vacation photos (anyone up for a slideshow? lol!)... needless to say we had a lot of fun... now it's back to reality :o(

I'll leave you with one final shot of the strip from the top of the (replica) Eifel Tower at the Paris Hotel:
