LAST CHANCE!

The last hoorah... today is the final day to order from the spring/summer 2009 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog.

If there was something that you were eyeing in this oldie, but goodie, now is the time to do it.

Want to see what is retiring? Check out the Last Chance List on my website and don't forget to take a peek at the retiring accessories, some of which are still up to 50% off.

Don't be too sad, though, the new catalog premiers tomorrow and I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Get the Scoop preview!

If you're planning to attend Thursday night's "Get the Scoop" event, you'll be able to make this "thinking of you" card for FREE -- one of two free make & takes at the open house-style event.

This card uses some of the new In Colors (Dusty Durango and Rich Razzleberry) along with the new Rich Razzleberry reversable polka dot ribbon and Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper.

If you want to see the second make & take, you'll have to stop by and visit! Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, June 30 (the earlier the better) so I can be sure I have enough supplies for everyone.

While it's my first ever "Get the Scoop" event, I'm sure it's going to be lots of fun with a new catalog scavenger hunt and ice cream! (can anything really not be fun when ice cream is involved?) Plus, all of my retired stamp sets from the spring/summer 2009 Idea Book & catalog will be on sale and you'll have your first opportunity to peek into the NEW 2009/2010 Idea Book & Catalog!

Hope to see you Thursday!

The finished project

A couple of posts ago I gave you a sneak peek of a Stamp Club project that the girls in my two Stamp Clubs were going to make this week. Now that they've all completed the project and it won't ruin the surprise for anyone, I thought I would share the completed project.

I was inspired to create this envelope scrapbook album by a similar project at my local scrapbook store (Colorful Creations). So I changed it up a bit (using all Stampin' Up! product, of course) and came up with this.
There's several great uses for this little baby -- you could use it as a brag book for cute little children or grandchildren, mail it to a friend you haven't seen in a long time and include some photos of you and a handwritten note, or give it as a gift for someone else to enjoy.
The basics of the album are pretty simple. It is three envelopes linked together by the flaps (the top flap is torn off). Then you just stamp and embellish as desired.
I used the Stitched Exotics stamp set that is retiring as of June 30. Check here to see what is on the "Last Chance" list and click here to see the retiring accessories (some of which are up to 50 percent off!)
I think I have about an hour or so to play with my stamps, so hopefully I'll have a sneak peek of one of the make & take projects for my new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up catalog "Get the Scoop" event on Thursday. Check back soon!

How cute are they?

I love this picture my sister-in-law sent me this week of my niece and nephews... it shows all of their personalities perfectly!

I haven't been able to work on any new projects this week because I had two stamp clubs to this week so it's been busy, busy, busy cutting and prepping for both of those.

I have a bunch of card ideas, though, that I want to get to and I'm excited to scrapbook this photo -- so hopefully I'll have some new crafty things to show you in the next couple of days. I'll also be back to post the full picture of the stamp club project that I had a sneak peek picture of earlier in the week (I just have to wait until the second club makes, too... I don't want to ruin the surprise!! :o)

Here's wishing for sunshine tomorrow!

Countdown to Club

Here is a little sneak peek of a club project my two stamp clubs will be making this week. I'm very happy with the project, but I must say I'm not looking forward to cutting for it! Lots and lots of pieces... but super cute.

It uses the retiring Stitched Exotics stamp set. I really like the versatility of this set and will miss it when the new catalog comes out on July 1.

Click on the link above to see the "Last Chance List" of retiring stamps and accessories as well as the Decor Elements.

You can still get some of these items at up to 50 % off by visiting my website.

Enjoy the rain.... again!

Thankful

Father's Day is always a tough day for me... having lost my Dad five years ago... I miss him everyday like it were just yesterday the last time I saw him, but I know he is in a good place now and out of pain... but it still doesn't make my pain any less.

However, I have a feeling Daddy was keeping an eye on his littliest buddy (my youngest nephew Jeffrey who was just 3 months when my Dad died) last night.

Jeffrey (pictured above) fell into a fire pit (that wasn't lit thankfully, but that had just burned down) last night at a family cookout. When he put his hands down to get up, he put one hand on the metal ring and he burnt his right hand pretty badly. ER doctors were even talking about the possibility that he'd have to go to Shriner's Hospital in Boston, but fortunately, it looks like all will be well with a few weeks of close monitoring and treatment at home.
I'm so thankful the little guy is O.K. Thinking over all the worse things that could have happened instead are mind numbing. Instead, I am relaxing at home on a day that is usually a pretty sad day for me (Father's Day) being pretty dang happy that all my family members are safe and sound... including Daddy. Love you all!

Sad to see 'em go....

So here is the pile of stamp sets that I own that will be retiring as of July 1! Quite the pile, huh? I believe it is 28 stamp sets plus extra Sale-A-Bration leftovers and all the hostess sets.
As most of you know, after the first of July I will offer my customers first grabs at these beauties before shipping them off to be sold on e-bay.
This year, I'm going to have a "Get the Scoop" event for my customers, where they can rumage through the retired sets (and possibly some other retiring goodies), thumb through the pages of the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog AND enjoy a bowl of yummy ice cream (hence the "get the scoop" theme).
I'm planning the event for Thursday, July 2 (as long as my box of new catalogs shows up in time!) at 6:30 p.m. at my house. I would like to have a count of attendees by Friday, June 26 so I can prepare. So if you'd like to stop by please e-mail me and let me know.
In addition to the new catalog and retired stamps for sale, there will also be two free make & takes and a new catalog scavenger hunt! It's going to be lots of fun so be sure to RSVP by June 26 to take part....
Have a great weekend!

Twice in one day! (well, technically it is now Thursday!)

OK... this is a first... two posts in one day (I have yet to go to bed since the last post)! I forgot to post the crafty sample that I wanted to share today! (I must have been overwhelmed by the sudden appearance of the sun!)

Here is a card I made using the retiring Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper and the Faux Metal technique.

Here's how it works:

*I cut the paper that I wanted to stamp onto to the size of the stamp (2" X 3")

*Then you want to cover the entire piece of cardstock with versamark ink (I bring the ink pad directly to the cardstock)

*Sprinkle the now tacky cardstock with Stampin' Up Silver Embossing Powder and tap off excess in the powder pal

* Heat with heat gun and let cardstock cool.

* You'll want to repeat that process again three more times (versamark, embossing powder & heat) and after the fourth time, while the embossing powder is still hot, plunge your stamp of choice into the hot embossing powder to create the impression.

This is a really fun technique and is great for embellishments on cards and on scrapbook pages. Here's a closeup of the faux metal embellishment on this card:

That's all for now....

Sunshine!

I love nice sunny days (as if everyone else doesn't??! but anyway...) I was inspired to stop the car and take this photo on a detoured trip home today.
I love Dennisport and drove home down Lower County Road and took this picture of Swan River.
I haven't been able to get out and go for one of my nature walks (partially because the weather wouldn't cooperate)... and today I couldn't think of a place I wanted to walk around so I went driving around instead.
However the beach is calling me and I hope to go down to Bank Street Beach later today (after hubby and I take a visit to the Dog House in Dennisport for Lunch... YUM!) and soak in some of this infrequent, and only temporary sunshine!
Of course, that is under the condition that when I get back tonight I need to buckle down and get some work done! I have two clubs to prep for next week ...
Enjoy the sun!

Yet Another Sneak Peek!

I am having so much fun playing with all my new toys! This really wasn't a set I would have been drawn to normally, but since there were only six sneak peek stamp sets in the demo release and I earned four for free and could get the other two at an additional 20 percent off, I ordered all of them! This set is called Animal Stories and it's kind of growing on me! The paper that coordinates with it (Tall Tales DSP) is really cool, too - some real fun and funky color combos.

I'm working on plans for a catalog release party called "Get the Scoop" to celebrate the new catalog, which will feature an ice cream sundae bar (YUM!) and make and takes (does it get any better?)... so stay tuned....

Another Sneak Peek!

I was playing with my new toys again last night and came up with this fun, bright Thank You card (I'm always needing Thank you cards!).
It features the new Circle Circus stamp set (The "thank you" is from the Wow Flowers stamp set) and the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! It also uses the reversable Polka dot ribbon that comes in all of the new In Colors (here it is pictured in Rich Razzleberry). All of the new products will be available on July 1. Call or email me if you'd like to pre-order a copy of the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog. You know that's always a great "read"! ;o)
The colors shown on this sample include most of the new In Colors including Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Dusty Durango (the orange) and Bermuda Bay (sorry, Tracy, I forgot there was a blue!). The only color I missed was the Soft Suede.
Hubby has to do some work today, so I'm hoping to get some more time to play with more of my new goodies... although having the sunshine out for the first time in like a week, may prevent me from hunkering down inside... still not sure about that. Hope you enjoy the sunshine... thanks for stopping by!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Holy Cow! The rain this morning (Thursday) was crazy, huh? It sounded like there was a freight train approaching my home!

You can't really see it in this picture, but toward the bottom of the photo, you can see just blurred lines that are actually the steady sheet of rain that came pouring out of the sky around 8:30 today. Crazy!

I've been dying to go on another one of my photo walks lately. In April of last year (yeah, I know it's been a while), I went on a walk down at the Cape Cod National Seashore and just brought my camera along for fun and took like 40 photos!

I love taking scenery photos, but lately the weather hasn't been cooperating... It doesn't look like it's going to get any better in the next couple of days either!

Oh well, the good news is I got another box of stamps today (the four free stamp sets I earned for Sale-A-Bration) so at least I'll have something to play with while the rain keeps falling!

Maybe on Sunday I can go for my photo journalist walk... hey, maybe by then I will have even broken down and bought the new camera that I want!

Until then here is a layout I did with some of the photos from the walk at the Cape Cod National Seashore:

SNEAK PEEK!

The long awaited "sneak peek" at some of the new In Colors and products from the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog is finally here! I had a little time this evening to play with some of my new goodies and made a scrapbook page celebrating the arrival of summer!

"At Last" features the new Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry In Colors and also uses the new stamp set Razzle Dazzle. The ribbon is also new and is reversable with polka dots and one side and plain on the other... I love how it looks when you tie it in a knot!

Journaling reads: I love that first day when I can flip off the shoes and spread my little piggy toes into the nice warm grass. This year that happy day came on May 10.

I'm scheduled to receive the rest of my new sneak peek items on Thursday. So hopefully I'll have some more crafty goodness to share with you this weekend.

Here's a couple of close-up photos, too....

Some crafty goodness

Sorry I've been somewhat MIA this week... between thumbing through the pages of the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up Idea Book and Catalog (Yipee!), making 10 wedding card swaps for my monthly swap club and planning for a workshop next week, things have been a bit busy. PLUS I got the first box of my sneak peek items from the new catalog and I'm dying to play with that stuff, too! I'm telling you it's just calling my name from the box... Jen, play with me, play with me! ;o)

Today I'll share a bit of crafty goodness and hopefully in the next few days I'll be able to post a few samples including some of some sneak peek items from the new catalog (which will be released to customers July 1). More about the new catalog in a future post... so stay tuned.

In the meantime this is the swap I did for our monthly convention swappers. We all connected at convention last year and decided to a monthly swap for one year. This month's theme was wedding.

You can't really see it in the picture, but I mixed clear embossing powder with irredescent ice embossing powder so the cake has some dimension and sparkles with glitter. (I used Bravo Burgandy craft ink to emboss).

Supplies:
Stamp set: For the bride, Sweet Little Sentiments (hostess set)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bravo Burgandy, Close to Cocoa (textured)
Ink: Bravo Burgandy and Craft Bravo Burgandy
Accessories: Felt Fusion II, gold brads, chipboard (loads of letters), white satin ribbon, linen thread, clear embossing powder, irredescent ice embossing powder, stampin' dimensionals, Big Shot, Textured plates backgrounds I, sanding block, heat gun

Download the Last Chance List

I just realized that in my previous post I did not include a link where you could download the full list of retiring stamp sets.
These stamp sets are not on sale, but will no longer be available after June 30... so if there is a stamp set you've had on your wish list that's on the Last Chance list ... now is the time to order it. You can do that online or by e-mailing me... whatever is more convenient.

Download the list:
alphabetically
by page number
Decor Elements

As always feel free to email or call with questions....
One other thing I forgot to mention in my last post is for those of you considering an in-home workshop, June is a great time to be a hostess. For workshops between $250 and $399, hostesses will earn an EXTRA $20 in hostess free merchandise (on top of the regular hostess dollars and exclusive stamp sets). For workshops $400 and over, hostesses will earn an additional $40 in hostess free merchandise! It's a great way to stock up on those retiring accessories and last chance stamp sets!

Stampin' Up "Last Chance" list available

This is it... the BIG day... Stampin' Up has announced the "Last Chance" list of retiring stamp sets and accessories! There are a lot of favorites that I must say goodbye to, but also quite a few cool new stamp sets in the sneak peek I got to order today! Below you will find links to my online store where the retiring products are listed by category.
The stamp sets will be available through the end of June. However, the retiring accessories (including the discounted items) are on a "while supplies last" status.
The best way to ensure you get product that you want is to order directly through the online store. If you receive a message that an item is out-of-stock then it means it was sold out since the last update of the system and you'll have to remove it from your order.
I'll warn you that a lot of these accessories (especially the items on sale) will sell out FAST! So if there is something you want... order today!
Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you. Don't forget, you can book your own in-home workshop or catalog party to earn Stampin' Up product for FREE! I still have dates available in June.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure you get the "preferred pricing" (which is the full discounted price) be sure to select me (Jen Pitta) as your demonstrator before checking out!
