SSINK Sale-A-Bration Favorites!

Happy Friday Friends!
I'm headed to Rhode Island this weekend to hang out with some new friends at the Cropical Getaways weekend. So looking forward to it.

Before I go, though, I wanted to share with you a card I made for the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration design team. Our mission today was to create something using our favorite Sale-A-Bration product. Picking my favorite SAB item, would really be like choosing my favorite child, but I created something with my favorite set of the moment (smile).

Is this little Ice Cream truck not the cutest? I had so much fun coloring some of these images last weekend. I used the watercolor paper, watercolor pencils and the aquapainter for this card. My favorite part of this card can't really be seen in the image above, though. Check out how glittery this truck is!

Isn't that amazing? It seriously sparkles in real life. So how did I do it, right? I actually used my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush (love that thing) and my Watermelon Wonder ink pad to watercolor with the Wink of Stella! You simple treat the Wink of Stella brush just like an aquapainter or blender pen. So I squeezed my Watermelon Wonder ink pad together (while it was closed) to get a little puddle of ink on the cover. Then I dipped my wink of Stella brush in the ink and colored my little ice cream truck. So simple... and fun!

I'm going to be watercoloring everything with my Wink of Stella brush... my husband better watch out!! (wink, wink)

Be sure to visit the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog to see all the "Sale-A-Bration favorites" that the other designers have. There is never a shortage of inspiration over there!

Teach Me Tuesday: Go Grunge

Hello my friends!
I hope you're surviving the wind and rain the past few days. It's great stamping weather, but not great for my walking goals. I've been trying to hit 10,000 steps a day and had been doing sooo good until yesterday. Oh well.

Good news is I have a new Teach Me Tuesday video for you. I was working on a masculine card using the new High Tide stamp set from the 2017 Stampin' Up Occasions Catalog (page 25), and wanted to share a few tips for some techniques that make a card feel a bit more appropriate for those men in your life.

Here is the card I made:

I am totally in love with this new High Tide stamp set. It's a two step stamp, which allows for layering of the image creating a two-tone effect. I did several techniques to add to the "grunge" aspect of this card, including stamping along the edges of the cardstock, silver embossing the edges, tearing, inking and in the video below I show distressing, too.

Here's a close-up of the card to see some of the detail:

If you'd like to see how I made the card from start to finish, be sure to watch my Teach Me Tuesday video from this week. You can see that below:

I hope you'll subscribe to my YouTube channel. I'm really having fun "talking" with you each week! Be sure to let me know if you have something you'd like me to teach in an upcoming episode. I love suggestions!

I'll be back on Friday with another design for the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration design team (so cool that I get to say that!).

Until next time... keep stampin'!

Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration Design Team Blog Hop: Birthday for Everyone!

Hey there friends! I cannot believe it is already Thursday. This week flew by and it was not even one iota of productive. Do you ever have weeks like that? I was just constantly pulled in new directions and couldn't focus for a half a second to get anything done. Boo. But, I do have something to share with you today!

I'm participating in my first Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog hop! Lots of fun new toys featured in these posts so you should grab a beverage and maybe a notebook (to write down all the things you want, silly), and then "hop" along with us.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 12 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Donna at Geek Squad Stamping. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track (or if you are starting here), you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

This month's theme is "Birthday for Everyone," and you'll see an assortment of ideas from masculine and kid to feminine and frilly. My sample today is sort of a mix of masculine and feminine as I mixed the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper with the gorgeous lady from "Beautiful you" to get a sophisticated look.

Here she is:

For whatever reason, as soon as I saw this stamp set sitting on my table next to the new Urban Underground Specialty DSP, I knew they had to be together! In fact, I did a whole series of cards with this combo for my Stamp of the Month Class (it's tonight - January 12 - in Harwich Port!). Here's a sneak peek of those:

I had so much fun with these... you can kind of see on the bottom card that I really wanted to do a little paper piecing with this set. It's like playing with paper dolls and that always reminds me of my Mama, and that makes me happy. :) I'll share the finished versions of these other cards here on the ole blog, soon. I just don't want to ruin the surprise entirely for the girls coming to tonight's stamp class!

Well, that's it for me... but keep going! There's lots and lots to see! Click the "next" button below to go straight to The Stamp Doc, Melissa, and the full list of participants is below so if you lose your way anywhere, you can catch up there.

SSINKspiration Countdown: Day 5

Hey there stampers... Happy New Catalog day! I'm so excited for the Stampin' Up 2017 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure. It's going to be a fabulous three months!

Today I'm jumping in on the final day of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Countdown to the new catalog (nothing like coming in at the last minute, right?). We're falling in love with the "Falling in Love" suite on pages 50 and 51 of the Occasions catalog. The new Falling in Love designer series paper is gorgeous and you can see it featured on so many of the samples from the Stylin' Stampin' Design team (hey, did I mention that I'm a design team member? Pretty cool, right?). Be sure to check out all of the work by the fabulous SSINKspiration designers HERE... they seriously are amazing. I'm so excited to be stamping alongside these ladies this year.

Want to see what I did with this suite? Here it is:

I actually got the idea for this beauty from a sample in the Occasions catalog (page 52). See it's so much more than a catalog! I used the Falling Petals Embossing folder (love this one... it's a lot like the falling snow embossing folder that was so popular), a touch of the Falling in Love Designer Series paper (love that bokeh look), the fabulous new intricate doilies (they're white on one side and vanilla on the other! Genius!) and the beautiful new Falling In Love embellishments. Also had to use one of my favorite punches... the decorative label punch.

This card is one of the four cards I'm offering exclusively to my friends that host private classes in January... we'll make two boy-ish Valentine's (let's face it, most of the Valentine's we give out are to our sweeties, right? Don't worry, girls will love it, too!), this generic "lovey" card and then a fourth friendship Valentine card. I don't have a whole lot of space on the calendar this month so be sure to let me know if you'd like to book your own private class so you can make these beauties... here's a sneak peek at the other cards...

So much prettiness! I'm in love, seriously. Sadly, we're all so excited, we crashed Stampin' Up's system this morning (I really don't think that's what happened, but the company was experiencing some major issues with all of their systems early today -- phones, ordering, shipping, you name it!) so if you're having trouble getting logged onto the computer system, please be patient. And follow my Facebook Page as I will alert you to when it goes live again! In the meantime, you can check out the PDF files of the catalogs below:

And be sure to click "going" to my online Facebook party tonight to celebrate the new catties. We'll be having tons of fun and I don't want you to miss out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today... I'm so glad to have you here! I'll be back on Friday with another Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration post!

Until Next time...
