Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration: Love is in the Air

Hey there friends!
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods? For us here on the East coast (I'm on Cape Cod in Massachusetts), we're expecting a snowy day. Nothing wrong with that... get to spend the day working on some projects for my weekend with the Cool Crops gals in Andover!

But I know you didn't come here today to talk about the weather... you came to see all the inspiration from the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration design team!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 11 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - (Faith. Grace. Stamp with Jen G). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

Today we are all sharing our "love." Theme for this month's blog hop is "Love is in the Air." So I choose to do a card using the adorable little hedgehogs from the Love You Lots Hostess stamp set. These sets are only available when you host an in-home class or event or if you place an order of $150 or more (and let me tell you, with the amazing Sale-A-Bration options right now, there's no shame in that!).

Here is the stamp set:
These little critters just make me so happy! :) I felt like doing a little watercoloring with my blender pens so I grabbed the hedgehogs first. Here is my card:

I used the new In Color patterned paper stack for the background (4 x 5.25"). Then I used the "thinking of you" sentiment from that same stamp set to stamp a little tone on tone background on the Pear Pizzazz strip. I also used the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing folder with Soft Suede cardstock. Oh how I love that folder (ha... no pun intended!). Then I chose to use the blender pens for watercoloring... I like those best because I think they're great for watercoloring novices like me (I'm not very good at it!). The make getting the watercolor look easy!

I did manage to put together a watercoloring video, this week though for my Teach Me Tuesday... if you want a little help deciphering all the Stampin' Up tools take a peek at my video HERE.

But first, be sure to finish the blog hop! Next up is the fabulous Bree from Craft-Somnia Momma

Continuing to be Thankful... with the Stampin' Up So Very Much Stamp Set

Only in New England would I be walking around with short sleeves and my capri leggings on today (in the house, but still!) and then expecting up to a foot of snow in a blizzard tomorrow, right?

Crazy weather. It messed with my class schedule again this week. I had to postpone card class last week because of weather and tomorrow I had another class planned... ah well, we'll do that next week instead, and I'll have a snow day tomorrow. Too bad a snow day nowadays is just a regular ol' work day when you work from home! It's okay, though. I'm totally loving the full-time stampin' life. It's great!

Anyway, I wanted to continue on with another sample I made using the So Very Much stamp set. It is one of the freebies you can earn during Sale-A-Bration.

Do you ever get stuck when you're trying to create? I do! In fact, I was having trouble getting started when I was working with this set so I went back to the Sale-A-Bration brochure where I found these samples:

I actually did an exact copy of the card on the left (except I added some inking around the edges of the white). And I liked the card on the right, but I wanted to add a little more pizzazz as this one was just a tad too simple for me (especially since the two other cards I had designed were pretty simple, too. You can see those here and here).

So here is what I came up with...

I added a little background stamping using the "for your kindness" sentiment and tone on tone stamping (one of my favorite things to do!). Here I used Rose Red ink on Rose Red cardstock. I loved the washi tape effect in the original card so I added a couple of pieces of washi tape and a Pool Party cardstock mat. The finishing touch was the little flower and a pearl (the flower is from the Tree Builder punch).

Overall, still relatively simple. Another great card to create a stash of for when those thank you needs arise! What do you think? Are you liking this set? Was it one you thought you'd want when we first started the week?

Thanks for visiting today! If you'd like to shop and earn this stamp set for free... just find $50 worth of goodies you need in my store and you can select So Very Much (#143340-wood; #143343-clear) as your freebie. And if you need help finding $50 worth of new toys... give me a shout! ;)

Showing Thanks with Stampin' Up's So Very Much Stamp Set

Happy Tuesday friends... I'm sharing another card I made with the "So Very Much" stamp set -- one of the freebies currently available for Sale-A-Bration.

Have you taken advantage of that yet? You don't know what Sale-A-Bration is?? Well, it's only the best time of the year for stampers... for every $50 you spend in Stampin' Up product (you can shop HERE), you get to pick an exclusive item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Fun, right? There's lots of great new toys, too, with the release of the Occasions Catalog last month.

Today, though, I'm continuing my exploration of the "So Very Much" stamp set. One of the offerings from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Here is a picture of that stamp set:

I'll admit this may not be the most exciting option to choose from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (I know it wasn't my first choice), but now that I have it, it is truly a great work-horse on your stamp shelf. If you send a lot of "thank you" cards or have a big event like a wedding or something coming up, this might be a great option for you.

Here is another card I made with this set:

It's yet another really simple one. Just one color of ink (Night of Navy). I love using this set to feature your favorite patterned papers (and who among us don't have a lot of that!). I'm using the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up.

This card would easily be recreated in multiples. I used the following pieces of cardstock:

Whisper White base (4.25 x 11; fold along the top)
Patterned Paper (4 x 5.25)
Night of Navy 'mat' (4 x 3)
Whisper White for the greeting (4 x 2.75)
Crumb Cake banner (2 x roughly a .5")

I like to cut a bunch of these pieces, stamp all at once and then assemble. Great thing to do when you're binge watching your favorite winter show. :)

Well, I'm off to pack for my postponed card class from last week... thankfully the weather is a little bit more cooperative this week, even if it is wet and yucky out (perfect stamping weather!).

Oh and if you'd rather watch some YouTube videos on this gloomy day/night ... be sure to hop on over to my You Tube channel... I have a new Teach Me Tuesday video coming out today! And while you're there, please hit subscribe so you won't miss any of my upcoming videos!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Stampin' Up Thank You... So Very Much

Howdy Stampers! I had some fun this past weekend playing with one of my new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. It's called "So Very Much" and I found that it's pretty difficult to make a real fussy card with this set.... And I think that's a good thing! That means if you're looking for a stamp set that you can make some adorable, fast and easy "thank you" cards (think mass producing) then this is it!

I'm going to share a few of the cards that I made with this set over the next few days.

This first one is a little different. I used my Layering Squares Framelits to cut out a window in a scrap piece of paper. Then I used the negative piece to sponge Crumb Cake ink in the square cut out that was left behind. I then just simply stamped the "Thank you sentiment using Early Espresso ink. I added a small piece of the dapper denim Washi tape from the Moroccan Designer washi tape to the bottom edge of the inked square. I then took a tiny strip of gold foil cardstock and snipped "banner" ends in each side. Finally, I punched out two Delightful Dijon flowers using the petite petal punch and layered on top of each other with glue dots. The last element was to add one of the Classy Designer Buttons for the finishing touch.

This is a super easy card you could use to use up some little bitty pieces of scraps you have hanging around.

The best part about this stamp set is that you can get it for free with a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration (now through March 31). It's available in wood mount (item#143340) or clear-mount (item#143343).

I'll be back soon with some more ideas for this super fun set!
