Making Predictions…

Hi There Stampers,Happy Sunday! Hope you enjoyed a nice weekend. I had a very busy (and fun!) weekend. Saturday was my annual Catalog Launch & BOGO sale. Always a fun time… this card was one of the two free make and takes I offered for the catalog launch. I used the “Best Birds” stamp set for this card. I’m actually going to predict that this will be a really popular set this catalog cycle… at least it will be for me. It was one of the first bundles to draw my attention (well, right after I got over screaming about the new “By the Shore” suite!). This card is rather simple because I knew the ladies would be busy shopping yesterday so I wanted to provide some super simple make and takes. This is a Crumb Cake base and I only used the Best Birds stamp set. So you can see it’s got some great layering elements and beautiful greetings (and I love the font!). I used the fabulous new Sweet Sugar Plum as the color pop, as well as Early Espresso for the bird. I’m trying to narrow down all my favorite stamp sets to four for a fun

Stampin’ Up Founder’s Circle Event: Swap Card

So I promised I’d come back and share with you the swap card I made for the Founder’s Circle event last week in St. George, Utah. I felt there was a little pressure with this as it’s the top 100 demonstrators in the country! And while, I normally make cards for classes and events that are easy to copy and duplicate, this one I wanted to “step up” a bit. So here it is… I used the new Lighthearted Leaves set from the 2015 Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog. It is my new favorite for sure. If you love to color, then this set is for YOU! It’s so beautiful. I thought I’d share a few more swaps that I received that also used this set: The one above is designed by Kelly Acheson. It doesn’t show all that well in the photograph, but all the black parts are black embossed. And I’m totally in love with the new corrugated paper. Have you see it? This colorful one was designed by Linda Heller. I love the layering. And the Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine layered on the Hello Honey linen ribbon? Beautiful… and something I would have never thought to do! Finally,

Hello September… the perfect time for PUMPKIN!

Hello September! I have to say I’m loving that summer isn’t making a fast exit. Summer is by far my favorite season and it always seems to go so fast! Don’t get me wrong, I actually do like fall, too. It’s just that fall leads to…. well, you know what and after last winter? I’m not ready! Anyway, you know what fall also brings? Pumpkins! And you know what kind of pumpkin is my favorite? Paper Pumpkin! What’s that? You don’t know what Paper Pumpkin is? Well, it’s only the best monthly paper crafting subscription there is! These all inclusive kits include a full stamp set, one or two ink “spots” (just adorable little ink pads), a pre-designed, pre-cut project that you can usually make a bunch of and all the accessories and embellishments you need to complete the projects. Most of the time it even includes the adhesive you need (glue dots, stampin’ dimensionals) — you may just need to supply a tape runner of some sort. And for ONE MORE DAY (through September 10), you can get your first two months of Paper Pumpkin at half off (even at full price it’s a great deal… it’s usually

Choose Happiness

I thought sharing this card would be a good choice for me today. The stamp set I used is called “Choose Happiness” and it was one that Stampin’ Up Co-Founder & President Shelli Gardner presented with at Convention this past July. This set is perfect for the vintage style that I love oh so much. There are two sentiments in this set: “When I need a friend you’re there” and “Choose Happiness.” I love them both. I have actually made a conscious decision lately to choose to be happy so this stamp set is perfect. It’s so easy to let life get you down and beat you up, but if you just face each day looking for the “happy” or the joy, life is so much more fun! I’m thinking I might send the card above to a special friend at Stampin’ Up. She’s been so super helpful to me not to mention very encouraging as I’ve tackled some new goals. Here is another card I made with this stamp set. It’s the perfect reminder of my current mantra. As I said, vintage is my go-to style and I think this one has plenty of that. Lots and lots of

Meet the Crafter: Linda M.

Hello, Hello! Welcome to my second edition of “Meet the Crafter.” I don’t know about you, but I love to read about other crafty folks and find out what inspires them, what they’re favorite tools are and get that “backstage pass” to what their crafting life is like! I introduced this series with Sarah K in June and now I’d like to introduce you to Linda M. We spent some crafty time together back and June and this lady can make a card like nobody’s business! 🙂  Without further ado… here’s more about Linda: How did you start paper crafting and what is your paper craft of choice (card making, scrapbooking, etc.)? I started making Christmas cards about 15 years ago. The first two years I used construction paper! From there I moved on to scrapbooking, but my favorite craft of choice is still card making. Where do you find inspiration for your projects? I find inspiration from other people’s work and all the materials that are available. There are so many talented people out there. I have really fallen in love with doodling, different stamping techniques and using twine, ribbon and buttons.  What is your favorite Stampin’ Up product

Say it isn’t So…..

I can hardly believe it is already three days from April 1… no foolin’! It’s odd that even though this winter has felt like the. longest. ever. I also feel like the start of Sale-A-Bration on January 28 was just yesterday! But all good things must come to an end, I guess. This card was one I made for a swap with the Shore Stampers last month. The theme was Sale-A-Bration and I have to say one of my favorite products this month was the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (to the right). Honestly this photo doesn’t do it justice… it’s so spring-y (a theme of mine lately) and colorful. Remember you can earn this paper (and many other exclusive items) for free with a $50 Stampin’ Up purchase made prior to the end of the day March 31. Anyone who orders with me (www.jenpitta.stampinup.net) before the end of Sale-A-Bration will get entered to win the Everyday Occasions Card kit for FREE. You’ll get one entry for ordering with me and a second entry if you use this hostess code at checkout: KXKDUXBX. Also, anyone who places a $50 order prior to the end of Sale-A-Bration will also get a

Celebrate the Every Day: The Power of a Card

If you’ve seen the Stampin’ Up 2014 Occasions Catalog, I’m sure you know that it is beautiful. Each time I look at the two-page spreads on pages 2 through 17 I find something new to drool over. The samples, the colors the products are all some of the best I think we’ve ever had. While I was at Leadership in Houston last month (you can read more about that trip here, here and here), I took a class called “Maximizing the Occasions Catalog” with one of my favorite presenters, Carrie Cudney. Honestly, I really debated once I arrived whether or not I wanted to stick with that class or “cut class” and go to a different one. But it turns out, I’m very glad I went. Sure, I learned some great tips and tricks for the product in our new Occasions catalog (and some interesting tid-bits such as the fact that the light-up arrow on page 2 was made with Stampin’ Up paper), but I really learned a lot more about the SU philosophy and, it turns out, it perfectly coincides with mine. Many of you may already know that I spent 13 years as a journalist working for small town weekly newspapers (covering things like the Miss Apple Peach Festival

Whoa Baby!

Howdy friends… and happy Wednesday! Tomorrow is my Friday and I have a “me” day planned for the real Friday so I am gearing up to make it through tomorrow. Doing some prep for my Stamp Club tomorrow night helped, though. I love planning classes and imagining the happy faces of my customers as they make the projects. Today’s card isn’t actually one we’re doing in club. It’s one I actually made for my group meeting last month and since I have a lot of friends having babies (or grandbabies in some cases), it will come in handy for me. I absolutely love the “Baby, We’ve Grown” stamp set in the Occasions catalog. As soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be in my collection 🙂 This card features all sorts of new goodies from the Occasions catalog including some of my very favorite (um, hello gold sequin trim. You are beautiful! And Essential Wooden Elements? I think I love you…) Gee, can you tell I’m sort of giddy that tomorrow is Friday (for me!)… Another favorite I used on this card was the Fresh Prints Designer Series paper Stack – see I told you there were all sorts of new goodies on this one! What’s that? You don’t

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my goodness. How does this blog get so neglected? I have big plans and then life just always seems to get in the way. I did want to hop on this (US) Thanksgiving Eve, though and say a big ole Thank You to all my friends, family and customers. It’s been a tough year (still), but I am very grateful for all the blessings in my life. I had a delicious turkey dinner tonight and a plan to spend all day with my family tomorrow. My nephew is a Senior in high school and will be playing his final football game tomorrow. I’m super excited to see him play — hopefully he gets put into the game a lot tomorrow! Then — believe it or not — we actually go out to dinner for Thanksgiving! No dishes or clean up for us! Are you jealous? 🙂 Well, anyway just sharing a card from one of my Holiday Card classes this year. Can you believe we started in August and just finished up our fourth and final class this past Tuesday — that’s 40 cards for everyone that attended all four classes! I’m hosting a class again in December…

Just Five More days…..

There’s just five more days left of the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. If there is something you’ve had your eye on, please be sure to order before Friday! This card was one of my swaps from Convention last year. I loved the Domestic Goddess Suite of products. Just so fun and retro! This card used the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper, which is actually on sale for just $8.21 per pack. As I write, the Domestic Goddess DSP is still available, but don’t delay! The stamp set on this card is called House & Home and it is really cute. Go check out all the images here. I love the little chair… I’m not sure why! As sad as I am to see some of these items going, I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful the new catalog is. Would you like one? It is my free gift to you, I just ask that you pay the $5 for shipping. Send me an e-mail and I can send you a pay pal invoice for the $5.00 and have it on its way to you on Tuesday. Book a private class with me and the catalog is yours completely free
