Teach Me Tuesday: Embossing Paste TWO ways

Hello there my crafty friends! It’s Tuesday! That means I have a new video for you in my Teach Me Tuesday series. Last week after my 12 days of Fall for Holiday Catalog Countdown I held an online party on Facebook that had two live demos as part of the party. However, my first one went a little wonky because the video came out sideways! Darn. So, I decided I needed to recreate that video and load it to my YouTube channel. I didn’t just want to re-do the card I made last week, though. I wanted to give you something NEW, too. So I created this little beauty: This is SO not my usual style! I knew I wanted to use the embossing paste in two different ways, though. One showing the way I used it in last week’s Facebook Live video (the snow on the tree) and then the second way as the “traditional use.” I figured I’d show that again as I think I’ve gotten better at it then my first time playing with it (You can see that video HERE.)  Check out today’s Teach Me Tuesday video below… there I show you how to get that

Feeling Grungy?

Hi there… I’m back to share another card that features a retiring stamp set. This is a great “boy” card stamp set — especially those tween years. Here I made the stamp set a bit more “girly” with my color choices, but it really is a great stamp set for a variety of occasions and people. It goes great with another favorite of mine (that sadly I never even inked up the rubber), Extreme Elements. Both are retiring as of May 31. So get them here ASAP. You may be able to score this stamp set featured today, called Grunge Rock, at my Buy One Get One event on Saturday, June 2. I have A LOT of retiring products including stamps, paper, ink and embellishments that will be up for grabs. This is going to be a fantastic deal as for every $1 you spend in cash & carry retiring products, you’ll get equal dollars to spend in the brand spanking new 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog. Score, right? That all happens on Saturday, June 2 at my house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. E-mail me if you want more details or need directions. In the meantime, here is another card that features “Grunge Rock.”   This one

The holiday favorite

Well hello there long lost blog friends! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with your loved ones. I think things are finally starting to calm down a bit for me these days. Not that that is necessarily good news… but I do have to say it’s nice to be able to take a breather! Of course, this is only for a short time before I kick into high gear for the start of ’11! In fact, as we speak I have a box of brand new Stampin’ Up product on my stamp room couch. It’s begging me to open it and play, but I told myself I could not open the box of new goodies from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog until I cleaned up my room! (I think I’m channeling my mother 🙂 The card above is a Christmas card I designed for a workshop this season and I have declared it my favorite card of the year. It was supposed to be a nice simple, no coloring card, but really turned into a card that wasn’t quite as simple as I had intended. I absolutely love it though. The colors are not your normal Christmas combination, but
