Stampin’ Up Leadership: Manager’s Reception

Hello and Happy Monday! I am in a fabulous mood today. I just returned from an amazing Leadership Conference last night and I am so excited and raring to go! Is that how you spell that?? Anyway, I thought I’d share a few of the highlights of my trip on the old blog and the best one to start with I thought was Manager’s Reception. This is only the second year that I’ve qualified for Manager’s Reception (Last year I got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando) and while I was super excited to see Harry Potter last year, this year was truly amazing. I’m not sure if it’s because last year I was kind of solo for the trip or just because this year was better, but nonetheless… Manager’s Reception 2014 was awesome. Stampin’ Up rented out the Downtown Aquarium (in Houston) for us for the whole night — just us!   We were greeting by these two (on the right) when we got off the bus from the conference center… talk about feeling short! 🙂 They were really cool. That’s the Aquarium building behind them… so fun. Our first stop was the Shark Depot. It was a cute little train that made it’s way

Stampin’ Up: 2014 Occasions Catalog

Happy Friday! It’s still a snowy day here on Cape Cod, but it’s also a very exciting day (even though I’m breaking the news rather late today!). The brand new Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up goes live today, January 3rd. This one is a beauty (I know, I say that every time).  I thought I’d share with  you a few of the new products that I’m most excited about. First, be sure to go check the catalog out for yourself… don’t worry, I’ll wait. It’s good, right? Well, here (in no particular order) are the “must haves” for me (in fact, some of them I already do have!):  1. The Retro Fresh Suite – I know, this is cheating because that encompasses like eleven products, but really — I love the colors if this product line. My favorite items are the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper (pg19, item#132993, $10.95) and the On Film Framelits Dies (pg.18, item#132969, $29.95) 2. Happy Watercolor Stamp Set (pg. 22, item#133191, $21.95) – this one is going to be so easy to stamp with. I am so bad at the whole watercoloring thing so this set is perfect for me. I also love the

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my goodness. How does this blog get so neglected? I have big plans and then life just always seems to get in the way. I did want to hop on this (US) Thanksgiving Eve, though and say a big ole Thank You to all my friends, family and customers. It’s been a tough year (still), but I am very grateful for all the blessings in my life. I had a delicious turkey dinner tonight and a plan to spend all day with my family tomorrow. My nephew is a Senior in high school and will be playing his final football game tomorrow. I’m super excited to see him play — hopefully he gets put into the game a lot tomorrow! Then — believe it or not — we actually go out to dinner for Thanksgiving! No dishes or clean up for us! Are you jealous? 🙂 Well, anyway just sharing a card from one of my Holiday Card classes this year. Can you believe we started in August and just finished up our fourth and final class this past Tuesday — that’s 40 cards for everyone that attended all four classes! I’m hosting a class again in December…

Feeling Grungy?

Hi there… I’m back to share another card that features a retiring stamp set. This is a great “boy” card stamp set — especially those tween years. Here I made the stamp set a bit more “girly” with my color choices, but it really is a great stamp set for a variety of occasions and people. It goes great with another favorite of mine (that sadly I never even inked up the rubber), Extreme Elements. Both are retiring as of May 31. So get them here ASAP. You may be able to score this stamp set featured today, called Grunge Rock, at my Buy One Get One event on Saturday, June 2. I have A LOT of retiring products including stamps, paper, ink and embellishments that will be up for grabs. This is going to be a fantastic deal as for every $1 you spend in cash & carry retiring products, you’ll get equal dollars to spend in the brand spanking new 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog. Score, right? That all happens on Saturday, June 2 at my house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. E-mail me if you want more details or need directions. In the meantime, here is another card that features “Grunge Rock.”   This one

Farewell to some favorites….

Good afternoon! Happy Saturday before Mother’s Day. My thoughts are definitely with my Mom today. She hasn’t been feeling well and has been staying up at Beth Israel trying to find out what is going haywire in her system. I hope the doctors find some answers soon! In the meantime, I puttering around in my stamp room. Tidying. Cleaning. Browsing. Stamping. A little of everything. Part of that cleaning includes saying goodbye to a few of my favorite stamp sets that are retiring with the close of the 20111-2012 Idea Book and Catalog, which ends on May 31. One of my favorite stamp sets to see go this year is Winter Post. And while it is not the holiday season right now, it truly is one of the sets that made me release an audible “Oh” when I read that it was going this year. Check out some of the cards I’ve made with this beauty: I think this last one was my favorite. The stamp set really didn’t look like much in the catalog, but had so much potential! It was a great stamp set for winter themed cards and scrapbook pages, too. I loved the snowflake in that

Hello. Here I am…. It’s still Monday! For those of you who are on my e-mail list, I promised you a post today about this fun match book scrapbook album that I made for some Easter photos. Well, it’s still Monday, so while I didn’t have it up first thing this morning, I still held up my end of the bargain! This is a fun project to do for National Scrapbooking Day on May 5. How’s that for coincidence… National Scrapbooking Day falls on my birthday and on Cinco De Mayo this year — too bad I’ll be working this year. I’m sure I’ll have time to go out with the girls after our concert… Maybe I’ll be able to even squeeze in some scrapbooking in the morning and make it fully complete birthday celebration! Anyway, back to the topic! This is a great project to do in one sitting. I’m thinking of maybe doing it as a class… anyone interested? It’s pretty simple with just three pieces of cardstock stitched together. Here are some more photos: Here’s a view with the top open. It has 10 pages inside to decorate and showcase photos. You simply take a sheet of cardstock
