My New Favorite Background Stamps!

Today is a windy, dreary day again here on the Cape. I think we are still experiencing the backlash of Jose — although the rain is pretty much gone… just lots of wind and clouds. I’m so grateful that this storm was really a non-storm here. There are so many areas of the world that are suffering from weather-related events. It’s so crazy! My thoughts and prayers are with Harvey, Irma and earthquake victims today. I wanted to get back to blogging regularly again, and while I can’t commit to blogging/vlogging (that’s a blog post with a video!) every day, I am going to shoot for two times a week (Tuesday & Thursday). So I hope you’ll come back and visit me each week. Today I wanted to show you the card I made in my Facebook live video from the Fall for Holidays Countdown. It was a live video so I don’t have a link for it, but I wanted you to see this card. The Tree Rings background stamp is AMAZING. I particularly love stamping it in white ink on a dark colored background (like on this card). Don’t you love that background? It’s the Whisper White craft

Fall for Holiday Countdown #8: A Beachy Little Christmas

Hi there friends! Happy Friday! I’m running around frantically today trying to get prepped ahead, and then load my car so I can hit the road! I’ve been so busy this morning, I almost forgot to post this! Anyway, we’re on day #8 of my countdown of fun, fall projects featuring product from the new Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog, which was released September 1st. You can find the new holiday items in my online store HERE and as a downloadable PDF HERE.  So when I first saw “A Beachy Little Christmas” stamp set, I knew it would find a home in my craft room. I mean with a name like By the Shore Stamping, it’s kind of a must-have, right? For this countdown, I’ve been trying to come up with ideas, techniques and tricks to share with you that might also help you learn something new. So It’s kind of funny that as I was prepping for my card class at Ready Set Crop this weekend, I was having the hardest time thinking “simple” now that I’ve been making these “stepped up” cards for you over the past few days! An occupation hazard I guess this week! Anyway, I did

Fall for Holiday Countdown #7: For the Hostess with the Mostess

First, let me start my Countdown post today with a great big thank you for all of your kind words yesterday. I really do appreciate it… and there are so many of you that struggle with the same issue. So I’m glad I shared. So often we feel isolated in our grief, and sharing, communicating and creating can be such a valuable tool in healing. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you can read THIS post to get caught up. If you’re ready to see the next project in my Fall for Holiday countdown, well you’re in the right place. I’m kind of excited about today’s projects – yes, plural! You get a two for one today because I designed a fun, vintage-y card for you and then decided it needed a “companion.” So I added a wine tag as well. I explain how the combo came about in my video today.  And if you’re just joining me, be sure to jump back a few days here on the blog because I’ve been sharing a new project each day since September 1st (the launch of the new Holiday Catalog from Stampin’ Up). We’ve covered fall, Halloween and

Teach Me Tuesday: Shaker Cards

Hi there my friends! I have some exciting news to share with you today. I’ve been stupid busy lately with work and stamping and just life in general, but things are going to get way more fun in a few more days. If you’ve been hanging around me for any length of time, you may know that I have been dreaming of quitting my full-time job and going full-time Stampin’ Up for quite some time. Well guess what? That day has arrived! My official last day in the office is September 29th, making me a full-time Stampin’ Up demonstrator as of October! And I’ve already got a super busy schedule lined up. I’m so excited! In  my excitement I thought I’d try something new. So let me introduce you to Teach Me Tuesday. This will hopefully become a series of videos — and I’m not committing to every week yet, but whenever I feel like I have something to share with you (on a Tuesday… ha ha) — well, there will be a Teach Me Tuesday video. 🙂 So today, the Teach Me Tuesday Video is focused on shaker cards. I sort of got addicted to making them a couple

Another rainy day…

I’m really missing the sunshine these days. This is day four of rain for us here on Cape Cod. And while I miss the sun, I have to say that the rain always makes me feel less guilty when I stay in my room stamping — which is on the agenda (hopefully) today. Sadly, I do have to go out into the cruddy weather a bit today as I didn’t get out yesterday and do some of the shopping I need to do (I have a hole in my favorite well-well-worn jeans!). Todays card is a bright holiday card that generally isn’t my style. When I host my card classes I do try to make a variety of styles of cards as everyone likes different things. This one actually almost got axed from the line-up as I just wasn’t that fond of it (it’s growing on me, though). It’s a good thing I kept it in though as it was a class favorite! See you never know. I used Serene Snowflakes for the stamp set (with Many Merry Messages for the greeting). I love the snowflake punch and then of course I also used the scallop trim border punch, too.

It’s beginning to FEEL like Christmas….

I cannot get the chill out of my body the last two days! It certainly feels like winter has arrived! What happened to fall??? I love the crisp, cool weather and this is not what I had in mind. Oh well, I guess I don’t really have much say in the matter. Here’s another card we did at my Holiday card class last week. It was actually adapted from a card I made for a workshop a few weeks ago. I love the new pearls we have in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog — they just add so much to a design… and they are very inexpensive. You get 150 pearls for just $4.95. Today is going to be a quick post as I’ve got a ton of things to do on my day off. Lots of shopping errands. I’ve already been a good girl and cleaned my bathroom (which was way overdue) and finished the laundry. I’ve also got some planning and creating to do later tonight, too. I do want to let you know, though, that Stampin’ Up has added over 200 items in their clearance rack section of my demonstrator Web site. There are some fantastic

A Productive Weekend…

Happy Monday after Halloween. I hope you had a fantasticly haunting holiday! For me, Halloween isn’t much of a holiday anymore… :o( No kiddos and no trick-or-treaters here at the Pitta Household — so it seems like any other day around here. Oh well, I enjoyed checking out some friends pics on various blogs and Facebook pages — some real super cuties haunting the streets! Perhaps due to the lack of excitement for me on Halloween, I was very productive in my stamp room. I have two big events this week… the first is a Holiday Stamp-A-Stack on Wednesday and then I am a vendor at the Crazy For Cropping Scrapbooking Retreat from Thursday through Sunday. I’m also teaching a class there. Lots and lots of designing and prep work to do. For once I was a good girl and starting some designing and prepping WAY ahead of time for me — five days ahead! I know, that’s not really that good — but I’m working on it. I thought you might like to see some of the cards the folks attending my Holiday Stamp-A-Stack will be making on Wednesday. I still have a couple of spots open if you
