Memento Mall

One of the coolest things about being a demonstrator and being able to go to convention each year is Memento Mall! It’s the greatest little Stampin’ Up logo store available only during convention. Look at this sweet little display of Stampin’ Up branded chap sticks! There were four flavors: Watermelon, Pomegranate, Spearmint and Vanilla. That makes keeping your lips from chapping or burning super fun, right? And I love the cute little flag decorations — all made with fabulous SU product, of course. I thought I’d share a few more photos I took of Memento Mall. There is just so much to see at this fun little shopping haven! See for yourself: This was a fun little display of cards to showcase the card tree (quite literally a tree!) for us to showcase upcoming class projects and favorite samples. Isn’t it the cutest thing?? There were some great card samples on it too…. like this one: and this one: and this one: I’m telling you … there is inspiration EVERYWHERE at convention! Here are a couple more photos from Memento Mall: This last one is the cashiers ready to ring all of us up. It’s actually only one side of

Have you seen it?

This new Holiday Catalog from Stampin’ Up is amazing… by far the best I’ve ever seen! I had to look through it like 10 times before I saw everything — it’s bigger and full, full, full of great products and ideas. What are you waiting for? Go check it out here now! 🙂 You can start buying goodies from this baby today — it’s a month earlier than SU normally releases their holiday catalog so you can get a head start on those great crafting projects you have planned for the holidays! Another great tid-bit of info for today is that the new MDS2 is launching! If you are not familiar with our digital paper crafting program, My Digital Studio, now is a great time to become familiar with it. It has always been great for make digital cards, scrapbook pages, photo books, banners and so much more — but now you can use it for canvases! That’s really exciting to me… it also has over 75 other great new features including being able to design in two-page spreads, use multiple colors on a stamp brush, recolor an existing embellishment, recolor a photo, text shaping and so much more! Stampin’ Up Convention 2012 – Swap #2

Howdy, blog friends. Happy Monday — It always bothers me when I type that — I don’t know why I always say it!! Monday is by far my least favorite day. Anyway, I digress. I’m back today to share another one of my swap cards from Convention 2012. This one is pretty simple, but I like it — and it proved to be one of my more popular choices when I gave other demonstrators the option between this one and my other designs. Remember if you see anything on this card that you’d like to have for your own stash, feel free to visit my online store where you can shop 24 hours a day and have new goodies delivered right to your doorstep! I had wanted to get a photo of some of the ladies swapping cards when I was at convention, but my battery was dying the first day I arrived to convention and I couldn’t find my charger (in fact, I still can’t find it!) so I had to be very selected about what I took photos of and alas I forgot about the swapping photo. Actually, as I’m typing this, I think I had one from

Convention Swap #1

Hi there… Happy Sunday! Can you believe I’m back two days in a row?? Here is the first of my convention swaps. This one was my favorite. It was inspired by the card on page 39 of the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog. I made about 108 swaps this year for convention — a little less than last year’s 180, but I think it was a good amount. The first year I went to convention I think I made about 30 or so and they go SOO quickly when you are swapping with thousands of women and I was sad because it seemed like I was done with my swaps in like five minutes! Silly… I know. Anyway, for those of you that are demonstrators (or customers who would like to re-create this card), below is a list of the supplies I used: Ink: Versamark, 102283, $7.50 Cardstock:Pool Party, 122924, $6.95Basic Gray, 121044, $6.95Whisper White, 100730, $8.50 Stamp Set:Mr. & Mrs., 126663, $8.95 Accessories:Glue Dots, 103683, $4.95Stampin’ Dimensionals, 104430, $3.95Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Pack, 117155, $21.95Silver Embossing Powder, 109131, $4.75Brights Brads, 119740, $6.95Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 118309, $16.95 (three punches)Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, 119277, $7.95Big Shot, 113439, $99.95

Finally… Some Convention Photos!

Happy Saturday! While I wasn’t able to charge my camera battery in order to get my photos off my camera, I was able to outsmart it! Without going into details – I now have all my photos and I’m working on several posts to update you on all my happenings over the past few weeks. This photo is obviously from the 2012 Stampin’ Up Convention… I was standing in front of the picture wall where the SU president and co-founder, Shelli Gardner, usually sits for meet and greets. While we didn’t get to chat with her on this occasion it did make a great place to pose in front of the theme of this year’s convention, which was “I am.” That was one of the directive’s that Shelli gave us right at the start of convention in the opening general session…. but yet, I still haven’t come up with my “I am” statement yet. Obviously, there are many things “I am” (a stamper, a wife, a sister, a daughter etc..), but I wanted to come up with a more abstract, meaningful statement – and alas that still eludes me! 🙂 Check out this lip dub video that Stampin’ Up made….

Technology…. a love/hate relationship

Howdy, friends! So I just wanted to pop in and tell you that I’m having a little tiff with my camera right now. The battery died and I cannot for the life of me find the battery charger!! This means I can’t get all my photos filled with awesomness from convention off of it!! Grrr… I promise as soon as I am able to find a replacement… I will be running to the old blog-o to post some updates! I have so many things to share… pictures of my swaps, pictures of others swaps, display boards, main stage, project ideas, friends…. the list goes on and on! I’ll be back soon… in the meantime, Happy Friday (soon)!

Back to Reality…

Boy, reality is not a fun place to be… especially after having sitting in this little spot for the past week or so — well actually there and then at the Stampin’ Up convention! Talk about polar opposites, though — the ultimate in soothing relaxation and then the complete craziness of 3,500 excited stampers in one location! I had a great trip and can’t wait to share more of it with you, but unfortunately, my camera battery is dead so I can’t turn it on to get the rest of my photos! Grrr…. I did post a lot of photos from convention on my Facebook page: By the Shore Stamping. Go check me out… and feel free to “like” me if you’d like! It’s always good to have a few more friends! 🙂 Well, it is rather late and I do have to return to the working world tomorrow so i think it is time for nighty-night. Check back often this week, though, as I have a lot to fill you in on!

In the Meantime….

Hi there! It’s been a crazy busy, wonderfully hectic weekend! I had three private classes this weekend and of course card class on Monday so I haven’t had a chance to put together my next post about Scrapbooking with Stamps, but I promise I will get there soon! In the meantime, I thought I’d share this valentine card with you. It uses the take it to heart stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I actually earned it for free as part of a challenge Stampin’ Up issued to demonstrators last fall. I love that about Stampin’ Up…. they are also giving us perks and such. Anyway, this card also uses the new embossing folders and the heart framelits for the Big Shot. It cuts out the heart images in the Take it to Heart stamp set perfectly! I have a few other cards I can show you in between my scrapbooking posts. I’ll be back soon with the next installment of the scrapbooking series. I hope you are having a great week!

Scrapbooking with Stamps – Part 2

Welcome back! Sorry it took me a bit to get back here with installment two, but here it is. This time we’re using stamps as a border. Repeating a stamped image is a great way to add a little pizzazz to a page and by using an image out of the same stamp set as an accent (the heart), it’s easy to coordinate the page. I used the “Best Friends Forever” stamp set (page 90 in the catalog). You can see in the full picture here that I actually used my first tip of using stamps as backgrounds on this page, too. I stamped the same image I used for the border as a background for my title. I love the new Labels Framelits for creating titles… it really works well to add a little emphasis. These pictures were taken at the Stampin’ Up convention in July 2011. They had a “Product Park” set up featuring all the new products in these cute little vignettes. Every time I went back to look, I always found something new… fun! The paper I used here is the new Sale-A-Bration paper, which you can earn free beginning today with every $50 order. Check

Happy New Year

Welcome 2012. Glad to have you here! Hopefully, your a kind, healthy and happy year. If you’ve been around my blog for any length of time you know that I love a New Year. It’s fun to have a fresh start. Are you familiar with Ali Edwards “One Little Word” campaign each year? The gist of it is that she selects one word to focus on each year… it sort of become her mantra for the year and often plays out in ways she never imagined when she first selected the word. While I’ve never really participated in “One Little Word,” I have selected “realize” as my word this year… as in realizing my blessings, realizing the moment, realizing success. That’s what I would like my 2012 to be. What’s your word? One thing I hope YOU realize is that the Stampin’ Up Holiday Mini Catalog is ending as of the end of the day today! So if you really wanted the adorable Stocking punch and Stitched Stocking Stamp Set — get it now or it is gone forever (we’ve already been told the punch isn’t carrying over to the next catalog… gasp!). Here is a really fun Christmas card
