The Crying Curse is over!

I survived! For those of you that are on my email list, you may remember that I had a big presentation this past weekend at the Stampin’ Up OnStage event. I got to present some ideas for a new stamp set from the 2017-2018 annual catalog coming out in June. During rehearsals on Friday, I was super nervous… I really wanted to vomit before it was my turn to have my “test” run. But I made it through that (and actually nailed the time allotment I had!) so I was feeling much better. On the day of the actual presentation I went over a bit on my time, and forgot to mention one important part of the stamp set, but overall it was fine. It was kind of funny because at the beginning I told them a little bit about my previous public speaking experiences (the fact that I always cried) so I told them not to yell at me if they couldn’t see something or if I did something wrong as I’d probably cry (I was really only joking — well, kind of). Well, for my first two projects the camera wasn’t working, but no one told me! They

Continuing to be Thankful… with the Stampin’ Up So Very Much Stamp Set

Only in New England would I be walking around with short sleeves and my capri leggings on today (in the house, but still!) and then expecting up to a foot of snow in a blizzard tomorrow, right? Crazy weather. It messed with my class schedule again this week. I had to postpone card class last week because of weather and tomorrow I had another class planned… ah well, we’ll do that next week instead, and I’ll have a snow day tomorrow. Too bad a snow day nowadays is just a regular ol’ work day when you work from home! It’s okay, though. I’m totally loving the full-time stampin’ life. It’s great! Anyway, I wanted to continue on with another sample I made using the So Very Much stamp set. It is one of the freebies you can earn during Sale-A-Bration. Do you ever get stuck when you’re trying to create? I do! In fact, I was having trouble getting started when I was working with this set so I went back to the Sale-A-Bration brochure where I found these samples: I actually did an exact copy of the card on the left (except I added some inking around the edges

Showing Thanks with Stampin’ Up’s So Very Much Stamp Set

Happy Tuesday friends… I’m sharing another card I made with the “So Very Much” stamp set — one of the freebies currently available for Sale-A-Bration. Have you taken advantage of that yet? You don’t know what Sale-A-Bration is?? Well, it’s only the best time of the year for stampers… for every $50 you spend in Stampin’ Up product (you can shop HERE), you get to pick an exclusive item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Fun, right? There’s lots of great new toys, too, with the release of the Occasions Catalog last month. Today, though, I’m continuing my exploration of the “So Very Much” stamp set. One of the offerings from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Here is a picture of that stamp set: I’ll admit this may not be the most exciting option to choose from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (I know it wasn’t my first choice), but now that I have it, it is truly a great work-horse on your stamp shelf. If you send a lot of “thank you” cards or have a big event like a wedding or something coming up, this might be a great option for you. Here is another card I made with this set: It’s yet another

Stampin’ Up Thank You… So Very Much

Howdy Stampers! I had some fun this past weekend playing with one of my new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. It’s called “So Very Much” and I found that it’s pretty difficult to make a real fussy card with this set…. And I think that’s a good thing! That means if you’re looking for a stamp set that you can make some adorable, fast and easy “thank you” cards (think mass producing) then this is it! I’m going to share a few of the cards that I made with this set over the next few days. This first one is a little different. I used my Layering Squares Framelits to cut out a window in a scrap piece of paper. Then I used the negative piece to sponge Crumb Cake ink in the square cut out that was left behind. I then just simply stamped the “Thank you sentiment using Early Espresso ink. I added a small piece of the dapper denim Washi tape from the Moroccan Designer washi tape to the bottom edge of the inked square. I then took a tiny strip of gold foil cardstock and snipped “banner” ends in each side. Finally, I punched out two Delightful Dijon

Making Predictions…

Hi There Stampers,Happy Sunday! Hope you enjoyed a nice weekend. I had a very busy (and fun!) weekend. Saturday was my annual Catalog Launch & BOGO sale. Always a fun time… this card was one of the two free make and takes I offered for the catalog launch. I used the “Best Birds” stamp set for this card. I’m actually going to predict that this will be a really popular set this catalog cycle… at least it will be for me. It was one of the first bundles to draw my attention (well, right after I got over screaming about the new “By the Shore” suite!). This card is rather simple because I knew the ladies would be busy shopping yesterday so I wanted to provide some super simple make and takes. This is a Crumb Cake base and I only used the Best Birds stamp set. So you can see it’s got some great layering elements and beautiful greetings (and I love the font!). I used the fabulous new Sweet Sugar Plum as the color pop, as well as Early Espresso for the bird. I’m trying to narrow down all my favorite stamp sets to four for a fun

My 5 Steps for viewing the new Stampin’ Up catalog

Hey there friends! Happy June. I’m so excited for this month. Summer is my favorite and we’re finally seeing some warmer summer-like (or maybe even spring-like!) temperatures here on Cape Cod. It had been cold and breezy (and rainy!) for weeks before I left on my trip to France, Italy & Spain for the Stampin’ Up incentive trip last week (more on that later). So while it has been a little cloudy the past couple of days, the warmth is a welcomed addition. Anyway, in case you haven’t heard – June 1st is also new Catalog Day at By the Shore Stamping. And this year’s Stampin’ Up catalog is gorgeous. Did you get one? If not, (and you don’t already have a demonstrator), I’d be happy to send you one. I just charge $5 (unless you have purchased from me in the last year) and you’ll receive a $5 coupon to use on your first order (so it’s really essentially free!). Just email me at jen pitta at comcast dot net and let me know you’d like one. I love to pour over my new annual catalog for weeks (sometimes months!) after it comes out. There’s always so much to

Hello September… the perfect time for PUMPKIN!

Hello September! I have to say I’m loving that summer isn’t making a fast exit. Summer is by far my favorite season and it always seems to go so fast! Don’t get me wrong, I actually do like fall, too. It’s just that fall leads to…. well, you know what and after last winter? I’m not ready! Anyway, you know what fall also brings? Pumpkins! And you know what kind of pumpkin is my favorite? Paper Pumpkin! What’s that? You don’t know what Paper Pumpkin is? Well, it’s only the best monthly paper crafting subscription there is! These all inclusive kits include a full stamp set, one or two ink “spots” (just adorable little ink pads), a pre-designed, pre-cut project that you can usually make a bunch of and all the accessories and embellishments you need to complete the projects. Most of the time it even includes the adhesive you need (glue dots, stampin’ dimensionals) — you may just need to supply a tape runner of some sort. And for ONE MORE DAY (through September 10), you can get your first two months of Paper Pumpkin at half off (even at full price it’s a great deal… it’s usually

Emerging from the fog (er… winter)

I think I’m finally (albeit slowly) emerging from this brutal, late-blooming winter. I’m finally feeling as though I have a bit of energy. It’s amazing what a little sun will do, huh? The spring is always like a new year for me — it signifies a clean slate, starting over and beginning again. I have to say I think I like the start of spring even better than a fresh new year — because it means sunshine, flip flops and beach time are right around the corner! Do you like my card today? I thought it was appropriate. It uses the amazing stamp set called Crazy About You. Tons and tons of greeting card possibilities with that set and if you add the Hello Life thinlits to your collection you have even more options! Want to know a trick to get those teeny, tiny word pieces out of your die? Wax paper! Just make sure you put the wax paper in between the die and your cardstock. Works like a charm. You may still need a piercing tool or something sharp to poke a corner or two to get it started, but so much easier than fighting with the cardstock

It’s Time to Sale-A-Brate!

Happy 2015! So sorry I sort of fell off the face of the planet at the end of 2014. Sometimes you have to know when it’s time to disappear for a bit. Personally 2014 was not my best year, but I’m ready to start a new year with a fresh new, positive outlook! I still do love a new year and while I know January 1 isn’t any different really than December 31 — it just gives me that mental fresh start that I love. Know what else I love? Sale-A-Bration! So excited that the most anticipated promotion of the year is here! The products our fabulous and did I mention there’s a new Occasions catalog, too?
