Snow Day!

As much as I hate snow, I’m a little thankful for it today. I actually started a new job this week, which is great and I think I’m really going to like it. My first day I got three dozen cookies as part of cookie swap that I wasn’t even part of and my second day… I got the day off! (Those are not the reasons why I think I will enjoy it, though! lol) I have to say that as excited as I am to be learning new things and enjoying my new role… I’m a little bit more excited to have an unexpected day off to get a few things accomplished. One of my “things to do” today will include some simple play time. I got some new products from the upcoming Occasions mini catalog and I really haven’t had much time to play with it. I also hope to do some planning for some upcoming classes at the same time — wouldn’t that be a shocker for me to create projects BEFORE the day before the class? lol. Crafty Snow Day…

Hello there crafty friends…. So I did so well posting in January and then I just went MIA, huh? Anyway, I’m back after a half-day in my pjs and lots of ink on my fingers! I love when I get to enjoy a snow day!!! It took a while to get my mojo back today, but I think I’m up and running again. I made this first card for a club project in February. I wanted to do the Crayon Resist technique again, which I used on both the background element and the popped up flowers on this card. This was one of those projects where I had no idea where I was going when I started. I just knew I wanted to use the crayon resist technique. So I pulled out the Embrace Life stamp set because I thought the cherry blossom type flowers would make a good background panel — and it did! Then it just needed something else so I added the two larger flowers and used clear rhinestone brads in the center… and I have to say I’m happy with how it came out! You know how I can tell when I’ve made a good card?
