Something BIG is coming!

I’ve just arrived back from Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up convention called OnStage. I always love going to SLC, as it feels sort of like a “home away from home” after going to nearly 10 events there. It’s such a beautiful city and it made it even more fun that I got to see the upcoming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs AND share it with one of my Shore Stamper team members, Donna (hi Donna!)! More info about those catalogs as we get closer (they don’t go live until January), but we also got word about another exciting development…. the Stamparatus! What is the Stamparatus you ask? It’s only going to be the BEST stamp positioning tool on the market! Check out this video to learn more about it: Pretty amazing, right? Since Stampin’ Up does 2-step, 3-step and 4-step stamp sets so, so well, this tool is going to be so amazing in your craft room! I promise… you’re going to *need* this! Here are some of the features of the tool: Compatible with Stampin’ Up!’s red rubber and photopolymer stamp Foam mat to use with photopolymer stamps Rulers and gridlines for quick measuring 2 open sides so

Teach Me Tuesday: Make some Quick & Easy Cards

Do you ever get the desire to create something, but you don’t know what you want to create? Or maybe you know you’d love to make some hand-stamped greeting cards, but you just don’t know where to begin? I have a great solution for you today! Enter the Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin’ Up (item#145466, $35). This kit is super easy to put together, and makes gorgeous cards! I do recommend a tombow multipurpose liquid glue (item# 119755, $4) for this kit in addition to your snail adhesive (item# 104332, $7), and dimensionals (which the dimensionals are included in the kit!). These cards are really gorgeous and I love that the kit comes with everything you need to make 20 beautiful cards (seriously, they are so much better in person!). What’s even better is you get the ink, the embellishments and a full size stamp set with the kit. You can even buy a refill kit (item# 145387, $21), that will allow you to make 20 more cards without getting a duplicate ink spot and stamp set. But, what I’m going to help you with today — is how to use that stamp set to give yourself even more options. Here is a

Teach Me Tuesday: 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders

Happy Fourth of July, friends! I hope you’re spending the day doing something relaxing… beach? cookout? crafting?  We’ve been blessed with beautiful weather here on the Cape for the holiday. I did a little of the beach yesterday, a cookout tonight and some crafting today. So all in all, a great holiday. Although I must admit as much as I enjoyed getting a base tan for my vacation at the beach with my bestie, yesterday wasn’t the best of days. I got bit by a dog on my walk yesterday morning — no worries, he only caught my pants (he ripped a whole in them, though!). Thankfully, they were just my workout pants. And then last night I scraped the decorative wall in my sister’s driveway with my new car. I’m so bummed. Good news is that it shouldn’t cost too much to fix. Just an added thing “to do.” I’m a bit ridiculously sad about it, though. For those of you that know me, you know I get pretty attached to my cars. My last one I had for 212,000 miles. I literally cried when I traded her in last year. Me and Rosy were partners in crime (not

The Crying Curse is over!

I survived! For those of you that are on my email list, you may remember that I had a big presentation this past weekend at the Stampin’ Up OnStage event. I got to present some ideas for a new stamp set from the 2017-2018 annual catalog coming out in June. During rehearsals on Friday, I was super nervous… I really wanted to vomit before it was my turn to have my “test” run. But I made it through that (and actually nailed the time allotment I had!) so I was feeling much better. On the day of the actual presentation I went over a bit on my time, and forgot to mention one important part of the stamp set, but overall it was fine. It was kind of funny because at the beginning I told them a little bit about my previous public speaking experiences (the fact that I always cried) so I told them not to yell at me if they couldn’t see something or if I did something wrong as I’d probably cry (I was really only joking — well, kind of). Well, for my first two projects the camera wasn’t working, but no one told me! They

Continuing to be Thankful… with the Stampin’ Up So Very Much Stamp Set

Only in New England would I be walking around with short sleeves and my capri leggings on today (in the house, but still!) and then expecting up to a foot of snow in a blizzard tomorrow, right? Crazy weather. It messed with my class schedule again this week. I had to postpone card class last week because of weather and tomorrow I had another class planned… ah well, we’ll do that next week instead, and I’ll have a snow day tomorrow. Too bad a snow day nowadays is just a regular ol’ work day when you work from home! It’s okay, though. I’m totally loving the full-time stampin’ life. It’s great! Anyway, I wanted to continue on with another sample I made using the So Very Much stamp set. It is one of the freebies you can earn during Sale-A-Bration. Do you ever get stuck when you’re trying to create? I do! In fact, I was having trouble getting started when I was working with this set so I went back to the Sale-A-Bration brochure where I found these samples: I actually did an exact copy of the card on the left (except I added some inking around the edges

Showing Thanks with Stampin’ Up’s So Very Much Stamp Set

Happy Tuesday friends… I’m sharing another card I made with the “So Very Much” stamp set — one of the freebies currently available for Sale-A-Bration. Have you taken advantage of that yet? You don’t know what Sale-A-Bration is?? Well, it’s only the best time of the year for stampers… for every $50 you spend in Stampin’ Up product (you can shop HERE), you get to pick an exclusive item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Fun, right? There’s lots of great new toys, too, with the release of the Occasions Catalog last month. Today, though, I’m continuing my exploration of the “So Very Much” stamp set. One of the offerings from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Here is a picture of that stamp set: I’ll admit this may not be the most exciting option to choose from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (I know it wasn’t my first choice), but now that I have it, it is truly a great work-horse on your stamp shelf. If you send a lot of “thank you” cards or have a big event like a wedding or something coming up, this might be a great option for you. Here is another card I made with this set: It’s yet another

SSINK Sale-A-Bration Favorites!

Happy Friday Friends!I’m headed to Rhode Island this weekend to hang out with some new friends at the Cropical Getaways weekend. So looking forward to it. Before I go, though, I wanted to share with you a card I made for the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration design team. Our mission today was to create something using our favorite Sale-A-Bration product. Picking my favorite SAB item, would really be like choosing my favorite child, but I created something with my favorite set of the moment (smile). Is this little Ice Cream truck not the cutest? I had so much fun coloring some of these images last weekend. I used the watercolor paper, watercolor pencils and the aquapainter for this card. My favorite part of this card can’t really be seen in the image above, though. Check out how glittery this truck is! Isn’t that amazing? It seriously sparkles in real life. So how did I do it, right? I actually used my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush (love that thing) and my Watermelon Wonder ink pad to watercolor with the Wink of Stella! You simple treat the Wink of Stella brush just like an aquapainter or blender pen. So I squeezed

Teach Me Tuesday: Go Grunge

Hello my friends!I hope you’re surviving the wind and rain the past few days. It’s great stamping weather, but not great for my walking goals. I’ve been trying to hit 10,000 steps a day and had been doing sooo good until yesterday. Oh well. Good news is I have a new Teach Me Tuesday video for you. I was working on a masculine card using the new High Tide stamp set from the 2017 Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog (page 25), and wanted to share a few tips for some techniques that make a card feel a bit more appropriate for those men in your life. Here is the card I made: I am totally in love with this new High Tide stamp set. It’s a two step stamp, which allows for layering of the image creating a two-tone effect. I did several techniques to add to the “grunge” aspect of this card, including stamping along the edges of the cardstock, silver embossing the edges, tearing, inking and in the video below I show distressing, too. Here’s a close-up of the card to see some of the detail: If you’d like to see how I made the card from start to

That’s A Wrap… Cape Cod Creative Escape 2016

Phew! What an amazing (albeit tiring!) weekend. I held my sixth Cape Cod Creative Escape crafting retreat this past weekend and it was a fantastically fun time! We had lots of new friends join us this year so that was super exciting. Everyone seemed to have a great time so I thought I’d share some highlights with you. Many folks arrive on Thursday night (especially those that were traveling far from home — we had New York and Connecticut in the house!). So everyone gets settled in their space and set up for four days of focused creativity. This was the room at the height of the weekend — jammed packed with any possible tool you could think of! These girls are serious! We had a full house with 60 ladies joining us. We started by giving the attendees a welcome gift made out of the Stampin’ Up Glassine bags, embossed with the Cable Knit sweater embossing folder. Then tied with ribbon and stamped with the adorable reindeer from the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle. This little cutie was designed by our endlessly crafty team member Linda Johnson. Here you can see the whole lot of them at the registration table

Teach Me Tuesday: Watercolor Wash Technique

Hey there friends…Well, it’s another Tuesday and I’m back with another Teach Me Tuesday! I’m on a roll. However it seems like I’ve mastered the Tuesday post, but not much else! I’ll work on touching base more often here on the blog, but for now at least I’ve got this routine up and running, right? I don’t know about you but I am NOT a good watercolor-er. I love to color, but for some reason I’ve never been able to get the hang of shading and creating shadows. However, I have pretty much mastered the Watercolor Wash technique and today I wanted to share with you three ways to accomplish this look… all in one pretty quick video! Have a look for yourself… What do you think? Will you give it a try? Here are pictures of the two cards I showed in the video: Fast and simple… my favorite. Have I ever told you that I’m a lazy stamper?? (wink, wink). I hope you enjoyed today’s projects. Next week is Cape Cod Creative Escape (eek!) so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze out another Teach Me Tuesday video… lots to do though between now and then to get ready.
