Plenty of Personality

Well, I’m still very far off from my 2010 scrapbooking quota (six pages per month), but here is one more towards that goal! Although it’s hard to see, this page is actually a progressive scrapbook page as well. I created it for a workshop I had last week. I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of the page in its three stages – 6 X 6, 8.5 X 11 and then 12 X 12 — but if you look closely I think you can figure it out. I took these pictures of my niece on July 4th last year and actually there were probably at least four more featuring her. I got the idea for the page because each picture illustrated a different side of her — bored, sweet, beautiful are the character traits I showcased here. Here is a closeup of the stamped embellishments: I’ve been rather light on journaling in most of my recent scrapbook pages. I don’t know what’s wrong with me… You usually can’t keep me quiet! lol! Well it is 2 a.m. right now so I really should hit the hay… I’m going to be beat tomorrow (or should I say later today?) Nighty-night.

Crafty Snow Day…

Hello there crafty friends…. So I did so well posting in January and then I just went MIA, huh? Anyway, I’m back after a half-day in my pjs and lots of ink on my fingers! I love when I get to enjoy a snow day!!! It took a while to get my mojo back today, but I think I’m up and running again. I made this first card for a club project in February. I wanted to do the Crayon Resist technique again, which I used on both the background element and the popped up flowers on this card. This was one of those projects where I had no idea where I was going when I started. I just knew I wanted to use the crayon resist technique. So I pulled out the Embrace Life stamp set because I thought the cherry blossom type flowers would make a good background panel — and it did! Then it just needed something else so I added the two larger flowers and used clear rhinestone brads in the center… and I have to say I’m happy with how it came out! You know how I can tell when I’ve made a good card?

Happy New Year

Welcome 2010! I hope you all had a wonderful celebration for the end of 2009. I have high hopes for 2010. I love the beginning of a new year. Fresh starts always inspire me and I have a lot of fresh starts for this year … I’ll have more on that in a later post. For now, I wanted to show you another sneak peek from the Occasions Mini Catalog that goes live on Jan. 5. This card uses the “With all My Heart” stamp set again and the new Chocolate Chip epoxy brads. New on this card, (by new, I mean that you haven’t seen before — as I know all of the goodies on the card are essentially new!) Is new paper from the Sweet Pea Paper pack. It is absolutely adorable and probably one of my favorite new products! It is a 12 X 12 paper stack with a total of 48 sheets of paper (2 each of 24 double-sided designs). And you HAVE to have the matching Sweet Pea stitched felt (not shown here). Sooo cute! Guess what? You can actually view the ENTIRE new mini Occasions catalog on my website.
