Teach Me Tuesday: Watercolor Wash Technique

Hey there friends…Well, it’s another Tuesday and I’m back with another Teach Me Tuesday! I’m on a roll. However it seems like I’ve mastered the Tuesday post, but not much else! I’ll work on touching base more often here on the blog, but for now at least I’ve got this routine up and running, right? I don’t know about you but I am NOT a good watercolor-er. I love to color, but for some reason I’ve never been able to get the hang of shading and creating shadows. However, I have pretty much mastered the Watercolor Wash technique and today I wanted to share with you three ways to accomplish this look… all in one pretty quick video! Have a look for yourself… What do you think? Will you give it a try? Here are pictures of the two cards I showed in the video: Fast and simple… my favorite. Have I ever told you that I’m a lazy stamper?? (wink, wink). I hope you enjoyed today’s projects. Next week is Cape Cod Creative Escape (eek!) so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze out another Teach Me Tuesday video… lots to do though between now and then to get ready.

Choose Happiness with Stampin’ Up!

I think it is very appropriate that the stamp set I’m going to share with you today is called “Choose Happiness.” Because (of course) it is a Stampin’ Up stamp set — and I always choose stampin’ to make me happy! So it fits, right? (smile) Anyway, I wanted to share with you this set, which I adore. It will be going away forever at the end of this month! As I said, it’s called “Choose Happiness” and it has a great vintage vibe and is perfect for layering and collaging. This first picture to the right is one I made a while back just playing around with my “scrap bin.” Do you have a scrap bin? It’s basically a little box near my desk that I throw all the stamped images, pre-cut circles, beautiful piece of patterned paper, leftover piece of ribbon and any other stamping goodness into. Then every once in a while I pull out the bin and just make a bunch of “one-of-a-kind” cards with whatever is in the bucket. It’s super fun, resourceful and I find it very inspiring – particularly when my mojo has left the building! You should try it! My favorite part

A VIDEO??!!

Hey there, stampers! Long time no chat. Why does that keep happening? You know what it usually is? I almost never go on my computer anymore… dang phones make getting email and checking Facebook so darn easy that I very rarely crack open the old computer and I haven’t been able to get the blogger app to work on my phone. Anyway, enough excuses… I’m here and I’ve got pretty things to show you! Did you catch my online catalog launch party last night? I had a lot of fun chatting with some crafty friends from all over New England! We spent about 2 hours sharing projects, winning prizes and watching videos! This card is a super simple one that I shared with my online catalog party friends last night. I even did a VIDEO! Holy cow. In fact, I did three and I just uploaded the third video I created for the par-tay tonight (YouTube was being SUPER slow last night so I didn’t get them all uploaded during our online time… but we still had plenty to talk about)! If you want to check it out, you can scroll through all our posts right here. On to
